Unfortunately the Na Fianna Ladies Footballers did not get to claim their third piece of silverware this year to complete the treble. The ladies have already won both the Division 2 League and Intermediate Championship titles in what was a very successful year for the club. Seneschalstown had to fight hard through the Na Fianna defense before Eimear O' Carroll was allowed to open the scoring with a point from play in the first quater. Na Fianna struggled even harder to break through the Seneschalstown defence and this was reflected on the score board with just the one point in the first half. Although Na Fianna did missed out on a goal chance in the opening 15 mins of the first half. The constant runs from Seneschalstown half back line but additional pressue on Na Fianna's mid field and defense to leave the half time score left schalstown ahead by 0-8 to 0-1 at half-time.
Na Fianna came out a different team in the second half and closed down Seneschalstown runs from the half back line. Na Fianna then had the majority of the possesion and tried to opened up the Seneschalstown defense. The full forward line had three shots on goals but not for the want of trying could not get it to the back of the net. The ladies never say die attitude shone through as they continued to battle hard until the final whistle but unfortunately could not close down the gap.
