Na Fianna lost out to Blackhall Gaels in a closely fought U21 FC semi final in Ashbourne on Friday night.
Na Fianna were the better side for most of the game in normal time and lead by 0-5 to 0-4 at half time. They opened up a four point lead towards the end of normal time and had chances to seal the win but a late surge by Blackhall Gaels forced extra time. Blackhall's superior fitness enabled them to pull away in extra time as a youthful Na Fianna side which included five U17 players were left devastated at the end.
