Result: Na Fianna: 2-11
Drumbaragh: 1-6
Minor player Conor Downey was in brilliant form as Na Fianna opened their league campaign with a comfortable victory over Drumbaragh in Baconstown.
The platform for the win was firmly laid in the first half where Downey netted a goal after a nice run through, and fellow minor player Daniel Queeney also sending over two points. Midfielder Brian Queeney also ran through to send two efforts over the bar and with Dean Henrick showing well the half time score line read 1-7 to 0-4 in favour of the home side.
Na Fianna opened the scoring in the second half through another point from Brian Queeney and another from Harry Silke and when Declan Brennan fisted to the net shortly after, Na Fianna earned a cushion which they never relinquished.
